EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - MATTHEW (MATT) DOUGHERTY
A North Country native, who grew up immersed in the wide world of sports and outdoor adventure. Matt brings over 20 years of working in sports, coaching, development, event organization, and consulting for national and international events. With a history of success in developing and executing strategic initiatives, he has consistently delivered, award-winning events, revenue growth, and global recognition.
DIRECTOR OF EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT - TAMARA HELLER
Tamara a Ohio native brings a wealth of experience & leadership in athletics, from the college and grassroots levels. Was a 4-year letter-winner and captain of her collegiate athletic program and currently in her 5th year as a Head Coach in the Ohio area where she’s managed multiple fundraising efforts. Has an unmatched passion for sports and relationships - both business and personal, her youthful energy will be an asset for the North Country Sports Council.

A lifelong resident of the Adirondacks and graduate of both North Country Community College and Paul Smith’s College, Nathan understands the transformative potential of sports and events on regional development. His experience in marketing, partnerships, and creative strategy positions him to energize the North Country Sports Council’s mission, attract diverse memberships, and help shape a thriving, connected future for the North Country Sports Council.
